Raising the bar on Crowdcube.
Finding solutions, there’s always a way.
“We are very impressed by the entire team at My Perfect Cousin. From understanding of our brief and script writing, through the covid-safe filming across multiple locations, to editing and sound - their attention to detail and professionalism is outstanding.
The quality of their work speaks for itself and we're certain that the video they produced for us played a vital role in the success of our crowdfunding campaign.”

CEO, Artfinder
The joy and challenge of raising capital. Spoiler alert: Artfinder hit their crowdfunding target in the first 6 hours.
“Would you be able to help us put together a crowdfunding video, amid lockdown and restrictions?” was the question Michal the MD of Artfinder approached us with. We knew the Artfinder platform well, so this was a very easy “YES” from us.
The main question was, how do we do this in the midst of lockdown? We’d just finished a very successful lockdown video for Bluebella which involved remote filming over a hundred people and working to an almost crazy deadline.
Finding a solution.
Was remote filming the answer for Artfinder? They wanted to move quickly, so we swiftly explored a number of possible solutions.
A slight easing of the lockdown rules meant it would be legal to do live filming on location, however we would need to put in place the correct procedures to make this safe, re-assuring and comfortable for the clients and crew.
We drafted a white paper on Covid filming, using industry backed research to form our guidelines. You can download our guidance here Under these new guidelines we were able to film with the full confidence of the client in their offices. This was achieved through a combination of PPE, Sanitising and social distancing. Adrian (Director of Photography) also filmed 3x Artists in different studios using our now established procedures.
Filming in Germany.
Artfinder also wanted to film Frank (Early Investor) in Germany, so we used our extensive network to locate a local (Munich) camera operator to pick up the European footage.
Our chosen camera operator shared the setup and framing with Adrian our UK DOP to ensure the work cut seamlessly with our UK interviews.
Was it a successful?
In the end we’re delighted to say the video was a tremendous success, Artfinder raised beyond their target of £250,000 within 6 hours of going live on the Crowdcube platform, in addition, the campaign has been independently reviewed by Nextfin. They look at various crowdfunding campaigns, Artfinder got the best rating possible "Gold".
